Respect to the legend of "Madman Marz"!

some slashers of the early 80's, I decided to remember this little gem called "Madman". Okay, this looks like a bastard son "Friday 13" but there are many elements to enjoy it without thinking of Jason Voorhees.
Prepare a pizza, a bottle of Jack, chips, beer, and fun. "Madman" is entertainment Friday night for those who like to do marathons slasher.
The myth behind Marz says a good night, decided to slaughter his family and then be hung by a rousing group of people. The legend says that the next day he was hanged, the corpse of Marz and their relatives disappeared without anyone knowing anything about them ...
But the legend goes further because it is assumed that if someone says the name aloud Madman Marz, the serial murderer returns from the grave to launch a wave of murders.
As this is a slasher from the early 80's, you can guess what will happen ... A naive mosalbete scream your name and what exactly happens to the legend. Madman Marz returns with his ax, without cutting the nails of the feet and hands, to brutally kill all people in the camp. Oh, this is far from Camp Cucamonga.
Faster than you can say "Friday the 13th Part 2" Madman is responsible for cleaning the camp, while adolescents responsible adult goes to town to play poker.
at all times think of "Friday 13" and its first two sequels whenever Marz is responsible for punishing teenagers who have invaded their territory by having pre-marital sex, drugs and well, just being young.

I believe that neither the worst movie porn 80's have a moment so uncomfortable in which a guy and a blonde woman unattractive swimming in a jacuzzi while the background we hear a love song PESIM worthy of bar Sanborn's while both were looking uncomfortably , do something like pre-sex sensual movements, they come, they kiss and have sex while Marz watches from outside. A memorable scene. Ha ja.
5) Madman makes a "wink" to "Black Christmas" to hide, and see with your eyes at his victim. Good detail.
Ok, I had to highlight key moments.
"Madman" is comical for a few reasons but also generates enough suspense in scenes very effective. For example, when the murderer climbed a tree watching the young. Let's say the atmosphere is tremendous, thanks to extraordinary cinematography involving blue colors mixed with black. Solid production efforts to create a visually crisp slasher.
The Directorate is also quite good. Although the main stage is the forest, the Director is responsible for wide shots that go through it by focusing on a single character generates mystery before something happens determinant as a murder.
The murderer is totally cool, its design is between comical and scary and it always will be a plus for those who like even see monsters in slasher movies. It is also totally pissed off and never tires of attacking with his ax.
Unfortunately, "Madman" has many flaws . For example, the absurd decision of the characters will make you lose faith in search of a scary slasher and solid in its history. For example, why the guy that called a Madman is aware that a giant shadow watches from a tree and says nothing?. Worst bit, why leaves the group to get lost in the woods?. And much much worse, why no one is aware that disappeared until too late?.

Certain scenes like when the 4 counselors-in partner, are lying on the floor talking nonsense. I do not know if you wanted to create a music video or something Musart style. Jacuzzi scene charted as one of the most absurd but laughable in the history of the slasher.
But hey, my advice is to enjoy this little journey of adrenaline, lousy hair, a very cool villain, and lots of blood. No one has fun as the fans of eighties slashers!.

Joe Giannone brings a perfectly well-structured slasher The standards of sub-genre. Is obscure, it has suspense, it has good gore, produces surprises, and also allows time for clichés that serve as part of the humor necessary.
The film is dynamic, the cinematography is superb and adds a feeling "spooky." All the forest scenes are well directed to the degree that can be considered as a quality slasher.
The script does not give to much but the basics like are a murderer, adolescents, and a legend, we have enough reason to sit back and enjoy. Good for Giannone who makes appropriate referrals and try to print their way through sleaze and serious attempts to build suspense.
The makeup villain is positively disgusting. Brrrr.

GORE / BLOOD
Madman Marz is very angry. Ax here, ax there, chest beheading by vehicle, but certainly what steals the show is a BRUTAL HANGING which is without doubt one of the most violent I've seen in any horror movie. Absolutely disastrous in the positive. I stand. 
The makeup villain is positively disgusting. Brrrr.
SOUNDTRACK
Tunes ridiculous and outdated. In the moments when the murderer appears in place of that music enlarge the tension and adrenaline, just simply remind you that we in 1982. The best are the sounds of Madman when it appears and that mimic the "ki ki ki ma ma ma" for Jason. RECOMMENDATION Ó N
Enjoy the movie for what it is. A slasher fun, brutal (all about hanging), a detestable villain, and a very decent entertainment factor. Now, if "Madman" chopped leaves you wanting to see more of the sub-genre, you'll always have the cash "Friday 13" and its sequels. < p >
