I've seen hell and called HLS

The article that follows was written by Michelle Rokke who was hired by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) to infiltrate in the laboratory Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS) is in the U.S., this story shows the horrors of vivisection at first hand. Our goal is to make sure everyone knows what happens in laboratories and in particular within the hell of HLS

A tiny hand reaches behind me slip between the bars of steel, gives me a piercing glance before his delicate and nimble fingers eagerly start pulling the elastic of my hat. After touching me lightly a few times, elegant fingers begin to stroke his hair, eyebrows and noticed the face. The soft moans emitting soon turn into screams of torture. A loud sound is heard when a body hits the cold frozen autopsy table. Nails scratch the metal surface to be cut a piece of skin of an arm that moves nervously. Exposed vein is expecting to receive an injection of a lethal drug. Receives a cut that goes from the chin to the groin, the number tattooed on his chest leads is unrecognizable. His features are distorted and his little fist clenches forcefully with each cut of the scalpel. When your skin is empty and thrown down on a garbage bag next and the figure in white coats asked to bring the monkey following me awake with a start. I tell myself it was just a dream. And then I realize it is no dream but a nightmare is not over yet ...

In September 1996 my life took a sharp turn when I hired as a technique in Huntingdon Life Sciences in East Millstone, New Jersey, USA

After several years working as an undercover investigator for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and recently, other organizations, I have witnessed abuses of animals at both individual and industrial, hundreds of times. I saw chickens being torn apart after having been suffering for months on factory farms, weak kittens waiting for their turn in the torture chambers of the researchers, pregnant females which had them strapped bags of urine to produce Premarin, miserable dogs locked in tiny cages, and countless animals beaten, kicked, stabbed and strangled. But nothing prepared me for what I saw in Huntingdon Life Sciences.

My technique was to work as caretakers of animals. I took care of dogs, rats, mice and monkeys, at least kept their cages clean. If care had literally had not seen many of them suffering and dying in vain in HLS would not see their faces in my dreams.

addition to cleaning their cages fastened to the animals while they injected all sorts of toxic substances. Clean the blood of the land after the surgical operations performed by clumsy and poorly trained employees. When chemicals were introduced into the animals in their noses, mouths, skin, veins, stomachs and lungs, felt in its effects and the suffering they cause, while others shrugged and returned home as if nothing had occurred.

learned that cleaning products as well as dozens of medicinal, agricultural and prodigious drug, all of them had caused suffering and deaths in HLS lab Elsewhere, sunscreens were poured on rabbits, guinea pigs while and pigs other experiments unnecessary suffering.

is no secret among employees that the experiments are ridiculous and based on dubious science. When a famous antihistamine had to be withdrawn from the market one of the most experienced technicians said holder and said laughingly, "What we have created this time?". Wonder drug jokes about it included both a cure for diseases like a great weight loss product and is this a drug or is it rat poison?.

Although it was my duty to stay in the animal room watching, I was repeatedly warned me not to worry their changes in health status after receiving their doses, and not record them. Once, when I asked a colleague what was the purpose of the experiment, I said just because a drug has an effect on a dog does not mean that it will also take on a human. Then I said the aim of the experiments is not to protect people, but to get the sponsor (the company that pays for the experiment) do more work at the laboratory. How to get more work is to make the drug sponsor to become a part of the market.

worked for HLS for about 8 months and I was hired with experience to clean tiny cages, subjecting animals to doses administered to them or to assist in operations. The teaching program usually consisted of colleagues who told me first as was supposed to be doing things and then how they actually do. At first it referred to the use of disinfectants in the cage and how to return the dogs to cages after cleansing. Then, the total non-compliance became more serious. In an experiment commissioned by Proctec & Gamble, not given anesthetics some primates having undergone surgery deep in the abdomen. On another occasion the results of the experiment were deliberately modified by the employees. In a study of dogs, a beagle was moaning, crying and shaking every day for the suffering which he produced through a tube, which was forced into his throat, he administered a substance that never saved any lives human.

HLS I was working on when my supervisor came back from a trip he had made the United States right after the story of Zoe Broughton llamadoIts a Dogs Life (A dog's life) appear on television. He said he wanted to talk to me privately and told me that a documentary made with a hidden camera had come to light and had caused much commotion. I figured that since then it would produce many changes in the U.S. laboratory as a result of what had happened in England, but I was surprised that no one moviese a finger to improve the rudimentary techniques being used. I was impressed that the story Its a Dogs Life was not openly discussed in order to prevent similar atrocities from occurring to those of England in the U.S. laboratory I was also impressed that not only improve the treatment of animals but it continued worse.

When I saw the story of Zoe my mind was amazed at what he had seen the two, although in the laboratory in England HLS has seemed that the dogs had larger cages and more opportunities for exercise, everything else seemed identical. Falsification of data, errors in dosage, blatant abuse of animals and no consideration to the welfare of animals. The attitude of neglect of HLS technicians as they drove the animals and perform experiments that are totally useless for human beings is deeply and profoundly unhealthy.

Later, when I read the article by Sarah Kite was horrified to see that nothing had changed since her first research at HLS years ago. The animal experimental system obviously does not work for human benefit, all it does is to cause suffering to animals. Vivisectors, pharmaceutical companies, insurance companies and the interests of the laboratory requires the daily fraud animal experiments to continue entering dollars in their coffers. Having witnessed botched after another beyond the closed doors of a laboratory, I can say firmly that if the cure for AIDS or cancer or wart that had the Dr Frankenstein in his nose is through animal experimentation will be a miracle.

The only solution to ensure the welfare and safety of human beings is to ban vivisection. To validate and use only experiments in which no animals are used that are more secure and reliable. Obviously this is something that vivisectors hate, as the data obtained through animal experimentation can be easily manipulated to display the desired results. A U.S. government study indicated more than 50% of drugs are either withdrawn or relabeled by the FDA after having been used by humans. The truth is that the first time a product is used by a person is when we can know with certainty what the consequences are the product in humans. All past experiments, all suffering, all deaths of animals tortured to death to make money, only results in an unknown substance on the market.

is no exaggeration when I say that I have nightmares in which I appear to love animals at HLS In other cases I have worked I had the opportunity to know each animal individually-victim.
Every day I worked, I held in my arms, pressing against my chest beagle dogs and felt her wet little nose into my neck. I saw them fighting against the steel cage of 90x90cm (fair) which were locked. I saw colleagues slapping, screaming and swings through the air while they caught from the neck when they had to move from side to side. I was very careful to pick the dogs gently, and keep them glued to me when I took them from their tiny home cage to exercise cage (a large cage in which it was supposed to leave the dogs for 10 minutes a few times a week, but that rarely happened).
I can not help remembering those who took more love every time I see a beagle running around the park. I see their sad faces when I close my eyes. I wonder what it would see Spud, Joey, The Major and Ellie running through the grass, being cared for and loved, rather than abused. When I see a beagle in the park by turning your back supported, the image that I can not shake of the head is that of a beagle in the autopsy room throwing her head back while he groans as a scalpel penetrates slitting his chin.

Sé que si el pelaje y la piel son rasgados en una dura herida provocada por la jaula, la piel cicatrizada no muestra ninguna diferencia with respect to that of humans, the picture of a scar on the finger of a monkey shows this fact.

Of course this picture, and many others will never be published. Cando's dirty secret laboratory in the U.S. HLS were brought to light in 1997, not long before the big companies that their products were tested at HLS to scream alarmed. Not only were exposed-sponsor companies to subsidize the blatant mistreatment of animals in a laboratory to which they had contracted and useless also the secret ritual of animal was exposed again. HLS got the feds issued a writ of silence keep fraud of animal experimentation hidden from the public.

came far to ensure that the public would realize that animal testing does not protect people, that all you get are unsafe drugs and products entering the market quickly and stay there .

HLS sued PETA, Ingrid Newkirk, Marybeth Sweetland and myself on the grounds of fraud and business secrets. We had a hard time getting rid of the Court, in part by a legal system that can only be described as full of prejudices and biases and beliefs that most of the information had come to light.

Due to the agreement reached with HLS I have forbidden to talk about much suffering endured by animals that I witnessed. I can not give data on experiments, products or companies even though the public has a right to this information. But I have forbidden to tell everyone that animal testing is a farce. I've been there and I've seen. Animal experimentation is a crazy game of Russian roulette in the best. At worst, animal experiments kill our friends, human and nonhuman. Keep our parents sick, and our sister serious. Keep the business of scientists and banks while our young mothers will be buried. Never help our brothers, daughters or sons. Damage to our grandparents and the employer will continue getting rich. Animal tests compromises human safety and animal welfare. Kill animal experimentation.
